Below are some process models / sketches of a paneling system I'm pursuing through Digital Project. Possible applications for this could be a solar screen on a building facade or a dropped ceiling.
Each panel is unique and will ultimately be derived parametrically. The folded panel geometry has 3 points of connection to a regularized structure. The panels will be constructed out of a rigid material that will retain a bent shape. Material connections will be refined as the geometry is developed in the software.
The next step will be adding the basic information into Digital Project in order to begin constructing the constraints and panel behaviors. I have ambitions of using sun angle calculations to inform certain folds in the geometry in order to achieve a sufficient amount of solar protection. Additionally, I'd like to produce a full-scale mock-up.
